The SUV later went out of control and crashed into a roadside pole before the driver fled the spot.The deceased was identified as Chhaju Singh, a resident of Rajasthan's Jhalana Doongri. He worked as a security guard at a hostel and was originally from Dausa.ELDERLY MAN WAS ON WAY TO HOSPITALAccording to Malviya Nagar police station officer Gaurav Pradhan, Singh had been unwell for the past two to three days and was suffering from cough and cold. He was riding his scooter to Jaipuria Hospital to get medicines when the accident took place.The crash occurred at around 7.30 am near Sars Pulia. The speeding SUV collided with Singh's scooter, throwing him onto the road. The impact was so severe that he was dragged for nearly 50 metres. Singh suffered serious injuries, including injuries to his ribs. Police and emergency personnel reached the spot following the accident and took him to the trauma centre at SMS Hospital.THAR CRASHES INTO POLE AFTER COLLISIONFollowing the collision, the Thar became uncontrollable and struck a roadside pole. The impact broke the pole, and the SUV continued travelling some distance before coming to a stop. Singh was admitted to the SMS Hospital trauma centre, where doctors attempted to treat his injuries. However, he died during treatment at around 2 pm on Friday.POLICE SEARCH FOR DRIVERMalviya Nagar police have seized the Thar involved in the accident and launched a search for the driver, who fled the scene following the crash.Investigators are examining CCTV footage from cameras installed around the accident site to identify the driver and establish the circumstances leading to the collision.Police are also investigating the speed of the vehicle and other circumstances surrounding the accident.Singh's death has left his family and colleagues mourning his loss. He had been working as a hostel security guard while living in Jaipur.
