Her sister informed the recruiter that the candidate was facing health issues and could not come to the office. The message read, “This is to inform you that she is currently facing health issues and is in the hospital. It won't be possible for her to come to the office. If possible, please try to extend her joining date.”Kheterpal claimed that the candidate, in the meantime, joined another company in Bengaluru in the same week and updated her LinkedIn profile to reflect the move. He also claimed that she had previously cited Bengaluru's weather as a reason for wanting to relocate to Jaipur. “They forget that their LinkedIn profiles are public and such shameless tactics can be exposed,” he said.Expressing his disappointment over the candidate’s conduct, Kheterpal said candidates should be honest if they receive a better offer or change their minds about joining a company.“If you got a better offer, say it. If you chose Bangalore over Jaipur, own it. If you changed your mind, be professional enough to decline,” he wrote. He further claimed that the candidate had used a fabricated medical emergency to buy time for a background check, calling it “a total collapse of basic integrity.”Take a look at the post here:The post has gone viral with 108.3K views on X and triggered multiple opinions. “These games are played from both sides,” several users opined, while another wrote, “Being a recruitment partner firm, we've seen this multiple times during our initial days.”Some users said they understood candidates accepting better offers but objected to the alleged dishonesty: “Though I find it fine if a candidate gets a better offer after receiving an offer, this level of lying and misleading is not acceptable. This candidate must be banned, and the company the candidate has joined must be informed.”- Ends
