YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy | Photo Credit: File photo YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said the alleged DSC-2025 recruitment scam was unravelling with fresh evidence and facts emerging from different parts of the State, exposing serious irregularities and raising questions that the TDP-led coalition government should answer. In a social media post, Mr. Jagan said that instead of answering the questions and agreeing to a CBI inquiry to bring out the truth, the government was denying an independent probe and attempting to silence those raising questions. He alleged that the government was restricting, removing or geo-blocking posts and accounts of Opposition parties, media platforms, social activists and individuals on Meta-owned Facebook and Instagram, citing “legal requirements”.He said the suppression of voices was not limited to the DSC issue, alleging that anyone questioning the government over corruption, failures, unfulfilled Super Six promises, high-handedness or abuse of power was being targeted. Silencing such voices amounted to censorship, he said.Mr. Jagan said no government had the right to muzzle the Opposition, media, activists or citizens merely because their questions were politically inconvenient, as freedom of speech and expression was a fundamental right guaranteed by the Constitution.Challenging Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to prove his claims on the DSC recruitment, Mr. Jagan said blocking social media accounts could not bury the facts. He demanded that every account, post and piece of content restricted in the alleged censorship drive be restored immediately and that the questions raised by critics be answered. He also demanded that HRD Minister Nara Lokesh take responsibility for the alleged irregularities and resign.Meanwhile, the YSRCP organised a Guru Parirakshna Deeksha at its central office in support of teachers’ dignity and rights and in protest against the alleged irregularities in the DSC-2025 recruitment process.YSRCP Parliamentary Party leader Y.V. Subba Reddy said the DSC recruitment was riddled with irregularities, with the most glaring being candidates allegedly securing jobs using fake certificates and making wrongful reservation claims.MLCs Parvathareddy Chandrasekhar Reddy, Kalpalatha Reddy, Ishaq Basha, Ramachandra Reddy and Palavalasa Vikranth, and former Ministers K. Kannababu, Perni Venkataramaiah and Taneti Vanitha were among those present. Published - September 05, 2026 07:18 pm IST
