However, Everton were the only club willing to meet Man City’s terms and he will now have a medical on Tuesday morning. He is set to replace Iliman Ndiaye, who will head the other way after City agreed a £65million package. Grealish netted twice and assisted six times across 22 outings for the Toffees and was an instant hit with fans. But he suffered a stress fracture in his foot during a 1-0 win over old employers Villa in January. It was a huge blow for Grealish and one that ended any hopes of making Thomas Tuchel‘s England World Cup squad. He said: “The support I’ve had since coming to this unbelievable club has meant the world to me. “The staff, my teammates and especially the fans have been incredible and I absolutely love representing this club. “I’ll be backing the lads all the way and doing everything I can to get back as soon as possible. Thank you again for all the love, it means so much.” Grealish has picked up minutes for Man City since returning to fitness. He played the second half of City’s 3-0 defeat to Arsenal in the Community Shield. And he came on for the last eight minutes of City’s 2-1 win over Bournemouth in the Premier League opener. Grealish was a £100million transfer for City when he joined them from Villa in 2022 and he has scored 17 goals in 159 appearances.
