JACK GREALISH rushed onto social media to thank fans after reigniting his Manchester City career. The winger’s days at the Etihad Stadium looked numbered when he was shipped out on loan to Everton in a deal which included a £50million option to become permanent last year. Grealish’s last City appearance in the competition came in a 3-1 victory over the same opponents in May 2025. And he headed onto Instagram to post a heartwarming message after the final whistle. Alongside three snaps, Grealish wrote on Instagram Stories: “Thank you to City fans for a nice welcome or return.” The England man added a laughing emoji and two sky blue hearts in the upload. City boss Enzo Maresca turned to Grealish after hailing his performance against Arsenal in the Community Shield. And, following his introduction, the title chasers came from behind thanks to late goals from Marc Guehi and Josko Gvardiol. Everton are confident their former loanee would love to seal a quickfire return to Merseyside. Toffees chief executive Angus Kinnear said: “He’s a player we’ve remained in contact with. “It was no secret he decided to have rehab here for the rest of last season when he didn’t have to. “He’s fallen in love with the right shade of blue. But, ultimately, he’s a City player and we need to respect that. “The most important thing is he’s back.
