Jack Grealish offered Sunderland loan transfer with Man City future in doubt as Black Cats pursue two major deals

The Black Cats are interested in a loan deal for the forgotten winger – who made his first Prem appearance for the club for 460 days. City would still cover part of his wages as part of the deal, while Sunderland have also expressed their interest in holding on to the star following the end of his contract. The 30-year-old’s deal at the Etihad is currently due to run out at the end of this season, and it is unlikely Enzo Maresca will deem him important enough to his project to negotiate a new deal. But Sunderland are not putting all their eggs in the Grealish basket, and are also working on a deal for another European star – Marseille’s Igor Paixao. The Brazilian, 26, is believed to have agreed personal terms for a move to the Stadium of Light, but talks are still ongoing with his club. He joined from Dutch side Feyenoord last summer and managed 12 goals and eight assists in 43 appearances across all competitions last season. Les Olympiens have lost a number of their biggest attacking talents already this window, with top scorer Mason Greenwood and second-top hitman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang both having left the crisis club earlier in the summer. Grealish would be the latest casualty in a similar exodus of attacking talent from City.
