FIERCE rivals Millwall and West Ham are set to lock horns for the first time in 14 years next month – and ITV will be screening the showdown for free. The Hammers, who sold Freddie Potts to Club Brugge earlier today, are among the favourites to win the Championship title this season. And ITV have announced they will broadcast the monster derby between the Lions and West Ham on September 19. It will be the first meeting since the ten-man Hammers notched a 2-1 win over their hated rivals before going on to seal promotion via the play-offs in 2012. ITV are also set to show four other Championship clashes before the turn of the year. Middlesbrough’s contest with West Brom will be the opening second tier game on free-to-air TV this season. Boro, who lost to Hull City in last season’s play-off final, are in line to battle it out with the Baggies at the Riverside Stadium on August 29. A fiery south coast derby between Southampton and Portsmouth will be on the box as well. The Blues have been preparing for the new season with some eye-catching friendlies, including against LaLiga title holders Barcelona.
