LEAGUE TWO side Crewe Alexandra have hilariously renamed themselves CREWE ALEKSANDR after the famous TV meerkat. The rebrand comes as price comparison company Compare the Market steps in to support the Railwaymen. Former Crewe striker Dean Ashton — who played for West Ham, Norwich and England — believes supporters at Gresty Road will embrace the fun. He told SunSport: “I understand rebrands can sometimes upset fans — but this is the type of club that will embrace this. “Getting eyes on Crewe has always been important. “Anything that helps the club, certainly at this time, is big, and having a brand such as Compare the Market is really good. “For teams like Crewe, fan engagement and investment are really vital for these communities.
