It could be a question, a statement, conjecture, even a food recipe (orange and green macaroni & cheese anyone)? Today’s winner (or loser, depending on your perspective): Season predictions … Posted by Canethang: sorry, but no team should ever be forecasted to go undefeated. not even the great Bama teams. 11-1 and let’s go from there. CaneSport’s Response: Okay, let’s break this down for a moment. The thread began referencing a Miami-centric site that did its own preseason ACC predictions and has Miami undefeated and the No. 1 CFP seed, with SMU not losing a conference game and losing only to UM in the ACC title game. Louisville is third in the ACC and Clemson fourth. So we’ll start with this: Certainly if Miami goes undefeated the Canes will be No. 1 heading to the playoffs. The caveat, of course, is that this isn’t really an independent source predicting all this. And SMU going undefeated in ACC play might be a tad hopeful … perhaps on par with Miami going undefeated through the conference title game. Here’s a secret for you: Very few Miami-centric sites are going to predict Miami losses … because it can make UM fans upset. My take? I agree with Canethang and think a one-loss regular season is probably the most likely scenario, with undefeated and two losses probably about equal as outliers. That’s just realistic based on metrics, current odds, etc. from an impartial viewpoint. Mensah vs. Duke: The Former Blue Devil Comes Home Darian Mensah and Cooper Barkate face their former team as Miami hosts Duke, but the Blue Devils arrive with major questions at quarterback, receiver and defense after losing key ACC title pieces. Is Miami’s O-Line the Biggest 2026 Question Mark? Miami lost four offensive line starters from its title-game run, but the CaneSport Roundtable debates whether the revamped unit is truly the biggest concern heading into 2026. The Punter Who Flips Fields: Meet Dylan Joyce Miami’s championship run featured plenty of stars, but Dylan Joyce quietly changed games with elite punts. The senior enters 2026 chasing All-ACC honors and continued dominance. SEC Push? Deroche Says No Thanks Demarcus Deroche says Miami isn’t “coming back”—it’s already here. After bonding with coaches, teammates and fellow commits, the four-star tight end officially slammed the door on his recruitment.
