It’s all a lie! Coronation Street confirms twist in Lucy murder story

Sally and Tim Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor and Joe Duttine) are trying their best to deal with Lucy’s (Anya Dewin) behavioural challenges in Coronation Street. Believing that she’s traumatised after witnessing her dad kill her mum, no one has actually stopped to wonder whether Lucy might have such a short fuse because she’s been asked to hide the truth about what really happened. Tim’s cousin Richie (Nathan Sussex) apparently killed his wife Rachel after an argument. The story that’s been told up until now is that Rachel was violent, and her death happened while Richie was trying to defend himself. They got quite a shock seconds later, as the teen screamed in Tim’s face, telling him that she knows they don’t really care about her. It’s become clear now that Lucy will lose her cool whenever she feels that she needs to defend her dad. This happened in today’s episode, when she got into another argument with Joanie (Savanna Pennington) about their parents being in prison. Lucy was desperate to speak to her dad, and was eventually allowed to chat with him over the phone. It appears Lucy and Richie haven’t told the truth about what really happened during Rachel’s final moments (Picture: ITV) During the call outside, Lucy found support from her dad. Interestingly, Richie then told Lucy that everything would be fine, as long as she ‘sticks to the story’. This absolutely suggests that the claim Richie killed Rachel in self-defence is a lie.
