The couple made the shock announcement yesterday, sparking a flurry of questions about the logistics of their return. Sign up for the Royals newsletter Thank you! “Just another move for publicity.” While another said: “It’s a publicity stunt, they can’t be trusted!” A third replied: “Meghan was NOTHING without Harry, and Harry became NOTHING with Meghan. “They are despised in the USA, and have returned to the UK where nobody wants them, because they want free security, free publicity, and free anything they can get their hands on. “They are shameless self centred and hope to elbow William and Catherine out of the way, so that they can be the centre of attention. “News flash! The question of security has also been raised, with it unclear whether the family has been given security assurances, and whether the financial burden will fall on taxpayers. Harry has previously claimed it was unsafe to bring his family back home and has fought a multi-million pound legal campaign to force the Government to return his 24-hour armed guards. The couple’s move to California saw them leave on bad terms with the rest of the firm, with Harry’s book Spare sparking a feud with his brother William. In January 2023 memoir, Harry criticised the Press and made startling family revelations. He described a fight with William, said Charles pleaded “Please, boys, don’t make my final years a misery” at Prince Philip’s funeral, and revealed he had pleaded with his dad not to marry Camilla. Meghan and harry also 2 compared opposition to the couple with Brexit, and branded the Commonwealth “Empire 2.0” during a Netflix series. This was despite Harry and Meghan once being Commonwealth Youth Ambassadors after being appointed by Queen Elizabeth II. The couple also alleged in their Oprah Winfrey tell-all that the Royal Family had made racist comments about their unborn children.
