Israel's foreign minister accuses UK of 'interference' and threatens response

Israel's foreign minister has accused the UK of "inteference" in his country's sovereignty over its imposition of a ban on trade with illegal settlements. Gideon Sa'ar said the move and the accompanying criticism of Israeli settlement of the occupied West Bank were "outrageous and false." "The connection and right of the Jewish people to this land are extensively documented, more than any other people or nation in human history," he said, speaking at a press conference. "We have a hostile Labour government in Britain that is consistently operating against Israel, and it has left us no choice but to respond to its hostile actions."
