Israeli settlers, backed by their military, have surrounded another Palestinian home in Qusra, south of Nablus, with at least four people trapped inside, Al Jazeera Arabic is reporting. The settlers also reportedly set fire to nearby land, while efforts were underway to allow ambulances to evacuate a wounded person. Qusra has faced relentless settler violence for weeks, with several homes in the Ras al-Ain area under siege since 9 August. Elsewhere in the occupied West Bank, settlers attacked two elderly Palestinian women in Silwad while they were picking figs, Wafa news agency reported. As per the report, the settlers also assaulted a Palestinian family and foreign journalists in Jalud, smashing the media crew’s vehicle. The attacks come amid a surge in settler violence, with the Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission reporting 2,256 attacks by Israeli soldiers and settlers against Palestinians and their property in July.
