Israeli settlers set Palestinian vehicle alight, try to seize child in West Bank

A group of Israeli settlers torched a Palestinian vehicle, attacked residents and tried to seize a child north of Hebron in the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported. A Palestinian man said settlers approached his car, set it on fire and then moved to attack him. Two homes were also broken into, with women and children assaulted and an attempt made to take a child away, according to media activist Mohammed Awad. Residents intervened before the settlers could do so. In a separate incident, Israeli troops swept through a number of villages and towns in the western Jenin area in the occupied West Bank, detaining residents and compelling shopkeepers to shutter their premises. Also in Raba village, soldiers searched houses and took several people into custody before moving on to a neighbouring village where businesses were ordered to close.
