Israeli settlers injure elderly Palestinian man near Hebron

Israeli settlers attacked and injured an elderly Palestinian man and several others in the town of Surif, northwest of Hebron in the occupied West Bank, on Sunday, Wafa news agency reported, citing Palestinian officials. Surif Mayor Hazem Ghneimat said the settlers, carrying clubs, assaulted residents in the Khallat Ghneimat area. In a separate incident, settlers drove cattle onto farmland planted with fruit trees in the Khallat al-Homs area, south of Yatta, damaging trees and crops belonging to Palestinian farmer Samir Obeid, Ghneimat said. Palestinian officials say settler attacks on Palestinians and their property have increased in the Hebron governorate, particularly in communities near Israeli settlements and settlement outposts.
