Israel relocates cabinet meeting underground amid tensions with Iran

The Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper confirmed that the decision to move the government meeting to a fortified underground site was made suddenly and at the last minute due to the escalating security situation. The Israeli radio explained that the government is approving on Monday the extension of the state of emergency until August 11, against the backdrop of the situation in Iran and Lebanon. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will head to Washington on Monday, to discuss the Iran dossier with US President Donald Trump on Tuesday. According to Yedioth Ahronoth, Netanyahu will discuss issues concerning Iran, Lebanon, Gaza, Syria, Turkey, and the West Bank with Trump in Washington. The Hebrew daily added that Netanyahu hopes to once again convince Trump to expand the war against Iran. Back to top button
