Read More » The agency, which is state-run, said that the attacks involved white phosphorus munitions and occured in the villages Zawtar al-Sharqiyah and Kafr Rumman, both in the Nabatieh district. White phosphorus is an incendiary weapon that causes severe burns, lung irritation and organ damage. Israel has repeatedly deployed the munition in Lebanon and Gaza, despite warnings from human rights monitors that doing so in civilian areas violates international law.
