Israeli forces killed eight Palestinians in the Gaza Strip on Thursday as they issued fresh expulsion orders in several areas, according to local reports. A woman and a child were killed in strikes on two houses in the Sabra neighbourhood of Gaza City, minutes after residents were told to leave. One resident said he received a call from an Israeli officer ordering people to evacuate. Panic ensued as families rushed to flee, but not everyone managed to escape before the bombing, according to the Anadolu news agency. Elsewhere in Gaza City, Israeli forces ordered residents in the Old City, in the east, to evacuate ahead of further strikes. In southern Gaza, Israeli forces also issued evacuation orders for two areas after bombing them. An Israeli soldier shot and killed a Palestinian in Deir al-Balah, in central Gaza. Two more people were killed when a car was bombed near the Jordanian Field Hospital in Gaza City. The latest strikes and forced displacement come a day before the first anniversary of a ceasefire announced to end Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, launched in October 2023 after the Hamas-led attack in southern Israel.
