Israel accuses Navi Pillay of promoting ‘genocide lie’ after Nobel recognition

Israel’s Foreign Ministry has attacked the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to Navi Pillay, calling the decision a “grotesque weaponization of an award to legitimize anti-Israel hatred and prejudice”. In a statement, the ministry accused Pillay of contributing to what it described as the politically motivated demonisation of Israel and promoting the “genocide lie”. Pillay headed the United Nations commission of inquiry that concluded Israel had committed genocide in Gaza. The ministry also attacked the Nobel decision in unusually strong terms, saying: “Now that the Nobel commission has rewarded the biggest lie of the 21st century, Joseph Goebbels is certainly applauding from hell.”
