Is The Warhammer 40k Bond Worth It In Helldivers 2?

More importantly, he's still waiting for a new Ape Escape game to release. Helldivers 2's latest update has just been released, and it's bringing a new warbond that entirely revolves around the Warhammer 40k franchise. This collaboration not only includes some cosmetic skins for your vehicles but some classic Warhammer weapons you can use to obliterate all the undemocratic aliens and robots. The catch is this warbond costs 1,500 Super Credits instead of the typical 1,000, which can cause people to wonder if forking over the extra cash is actually worth it. If you're considering snagging the Castellan's Creed warbond, here's everything you need to know about it and whether the weapons are any good. Castellan's Creed Warbond Breakdown The Castellan's Creed warbond has a total of 17 items across three pages you'll need to progress through. This warbond includes cosmetics for your vehicles, player cards, a title, two armor sets, two weapons, one throwable, and a stratagem. Buying everything will cost you a little over 650 Medals, with the most expensive items being the stratagem, weapons, and armor sets. Overall, this is a fantastic warbond thanks to its mix of great-looking armor, solid weapons, and probably one of the best secondary weapons in the entire game. Here's what you need to know about the main items included so you can spend your Super Credits wisely. R/40-K Hot-Shot Marksman Rifle Starting with the R/40-K Hot-Shot Marksman Rifle, this weapon is a Medium Armor-Penetrating weapon that deals 275 damage per shot, has a 12-round capacity, 19 Recoil, and a 210 Fire Rate. It also boasts a scope and has superb accuracy, making it great for targeting weak spots on enemies. This also means that the Hot-Shot is very mediocre against horde-based factions that seek to overwhelm with numbers rather than pure strength. Unsurprisingly, this makes the Hot-Shot quite strong against the Automatons, as it can easily hit their smaller, more vulnerable heads on their large, armored bodies. Where I wouldn't bring this in is against the Terminids or the Illuminate, if only because you'll want a primary weapon that can deal with large groups rather than individual targets. If you do bring this in against the Illuminate or Terminids, make sure to keep an eye on your ammo count. The Hot-Shot only has seven clips, which you can go through very quickly if you're spamming shots downrange. Make sure to balance this weapon with squadmates using primary guns better suited to volume; otherwise, you will really struggle in some of the higher difficulties. G/40-K Melta Mine Your new throwable in this warbond is the Melta Mine, which is an anti-tank explosive that can be thrown down and will trigger when an enemy gets close to it. Once activated, the mine will spew a cone of fire from the ground for a couple of seconds before exploding to kill anything left. As the description would suggest, the Melta Mine is superb against tough, slower-moving units such as Chargers, Impalers, Factory Striders, tanks, and Hulks. It deals a ton of single-target damage, allowing you to quickly and efficiently deal with tougher, tankier threats that you don't have time to use a stratagem on. Additionally, you can hold a total of four mines, so don't worry too much about throwing one down if you need a quick way to deal with a big enemy chasing you. P/40-K Bolt Pistol This is the weapon you are buying the Castellan's Creed warbond for. The Bolt Pistol, outside of just being an iconic Warhammer weapon, might be the best secondary in the entire game. This explosive, Heavy Armor-Penetrating pistol absolutely chews through any enemy in the game, letting you easily kill most foes who dare to step in front of you. Boasting a whopping 500 damage per shot, this six-round pistol is perfect for all three factions and almost every mission type in the game. It also has a decent fire rate of 150 and a fairly quick reload, which is key for these types of guns. Its only real downside is the gnarly recoil, which will take a bit of practice to get used to. 40-K Meltagun The Metlagun is our new stratagem that fires a continuous, high-damage beam for a couple of seconds. You can fire three beams without needing to reload, and it has a fairly short range, so expect to get a little closer to enemies you want to delete. Where this weapon shines is the sheer precision it offers, as the beam's radius isn't that big, making it great for targeting enemies with very obvious weak spots such as a Hulk's head or the exposed flesh of an Impaler. Great for Terminids and Automatons, the Meltagun's precision and damage make it great since these enemies often have fairly exposed weak points we can easily exploit. The Illuminate is a little trickier, as the Meltagun is strong when facing Crushers but can struggle against some of the other big enemies like Harvesters. All that being said, the Meltagun is still a strong stratagem that functions as a good anti-tank weapon that thrives when it has an easily weak spot to hit. TG-8 Sharpshooter And TG-122 Demo-Trooper Armor Finally, there are two armor sets in the Warhammer warbond that both share the same new armor passive, True Grit. The TG-8 Sharpshooter (medium armor) and TG-122 Demo-Trooper (heavy armor) offer players an increased reload speed of 30 percent for all support weapons. This is quite strong depending on what support weapons you are using, as it pairs nicely with any of the heavy machine guns, new Meltagun, flamethrower, and Autocannon. If you're someone who frequently makes use of these support weapons, both armor sets are worth considering, as it can really save you in a pinch. These armor sets also increase the weapon ergonomics and reduce drag when moving a weapon, which is fine. This isn't the reason you're using this armor, but it's a nice bonus if you plan on utilizing more cumbersome gear.
