He also recalled how the actor would visit the border to boost the morale of soldiers. “Even after reaching the pinnacle of fame, he remained connected to his roots,” Shah said, recalling Patekar’s simplicity and straightforwardness. He offered condolences to the actor’s family and fans, praying for strength for them to bear the loss and for the departed soul to find a place at the divine feet. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis remembered Patekar as his 'close friend,' describing his sudden death as a 'massive shock to the heart.'“The untimely and sudden 'exit' of veteran actor and my close friend Nana Patekar is a massive shock to the heart. The mind is overwhelmed with grief,” Fadnavis said.“Nana was as grand on screen as he was in spirit. He gifted an entire era to Marathi and Hindi cinema,” Fadnavis said, recalling the actor’s journey from Krantiveer to Natsamrat.
