Two girl students were injured after an iron rod fell from the second floor of an under-construction portion of a government girls' high school in Hyderabad.The incident took place around 12.50 pm on October 5 at the Government Girls High School in Hyderabad’s Barkas, while classes were underway on the lower floors.According to a complaint filed by Mohammed Anwar Khan, father of one of the injured students, his 15-year-old daughter, a Class 8 student, suffered a serious head injury after the rod fell on her. Another student reportedly sustained a leg injury and fracture.The girl's father said that construction work was being carried out without adequate safety precautions or protective barricading, despite students being present on the premises. Nasreen was rushed to Owaisi Hospital for emergency treatment. Khan later approached Chandrayangutta police, seeking action against the contractor and others responsible for the safety lapses.Based on his complaint, police registered a case against the construction contractor under Section 125(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with rash or negligent acts endangering human life or personal safety.
