The Jagged Steel is one of the first significant weapons you can find in Phantom Blade Zero. After defeating the Maskwalker, Jagged Steel, the Frenzied Brute in the Weeping Creek Valley, you'll acquire the sword, which can quickly proc bleed on your foes. As with all weapons in the game, the Jagged Steel can be Soul Tempered to gain a powerful new ability, this time called Open Wounds. You'll need a special item for this upgrade: the Iron Butcher Mask, and getting it is a bit of a mission. Thankfully, we have you covered, with this guide telling you exactly where to go. Where To Find The Iron Butcher Mask The first step you'll need to complete to get the Iron Butcher Mask and upgrade your Jagged Steel is restoring the Illusory Pipa. It has been scattered into three locations, as seen below: Village of Lu - Hidden Boss Chapter Boss - Mandate's Encampment Hidden Boss - Ruined Theater (Meigu Lake) After finding all three parts, head to Myst at the tavern in Pangzhen to repair the Pipa, which grants you a new Phantom Edge with an ability that comes in handy for exploration: it clears the mists blocking areas of the map. The Iron Butcher Mask is hidden behind one of these areas. Take the Illusory Pipa back to Meigu Lake and sail your way to the top of the map in an area previously blocked by mist. Use the Pipa to clear the mist, and you'll unlock a large new exploration area: The Mountain of Imprisonment. It's an area vital for the Perfect Ending and one that harbors the Iron Butcher Mask. From here, follow the path around until you arrive at an arena with a bunch of enemies. Clear them out, and you'll be faced with a boss fight against another Maskwalker: Iron Butcher, the Frenzied Brute. It's a fairly standard boss fight for this point in the game, and one where, if you put everything you've learned into practice, you should overcome it easily. Upon his defeat, he drops the Iron Butcher Mask. Conveniently, after killing him, a new Bell appears, titled Iron Butcher's Camp. You can use this to upgrade the Jagged Edge. Given its ability to deal massive Bleed damage to enemies, its skill, Open Wounds, is a huge boon. Even when an enemy blocks your attack, you will continue to fill their Bleed Gauge. This means they can keep blocking, and you'll still eventually kill them, provided they're not a Puppet, Golden Body, or Phantom Body. Combine it with the Livingwood Talisman, however, and you'll be an unstoppable force.
