"Severe punishment awaits the aggressors; the United States will regret its new attacks," spokesman Hossein Mohebi said in a post on X, after explosions were heard in multiple areas along and east of the Strait of Hormuz. Citing a senior Iranian military source, Tasnim news agency also reported that Iran will respond to US attacks with a response "several times larger", targeting US bases and interests in the region.
