In a statement to the state-run Iraqi News Agency (INA), Bo noted that relations between China and Iraq are continually improving. He emphasized that Iraq is a crucial partner for China in the Belt and Road Initiative, which has yielded positive outcomes. Major Chinese firms are involved in the construction and development of several industries in Iraq, such as oil, energy, and infrastructure, according to Bo. Bo emphasized that the cooperation between the two countries is based on shared interests and is continuously developing. The Chinese diplomat expressed his hope that this collaboration will continue and grow into other sectors, contributing to the development of a complete partnership between Iraq and China. The two countries’ strong economic interdependence assures a bright future and enormous possibilities for collaboration, according to Bo. Chinese companies have been heavily involved in the oil industry and in significant infrastructure projects, such as the construction of major bridges and schools, with more than 600 schools completed in various Iraqi provinces. China’s investments in Iraq are also rapidly rising, notably in infrastructure and energy.
