Iraqi Airways doubles Baghdad-Amman flights on peak days

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) — Iraqi Airways will double flights between Baghdad and Amman on peak travel days beginning Friday, Sept. 11, in response to increased passenger demand between Iraq and Jordan. The airline said that it would boost flights from one to two each day on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, increasing capacity on three of the busiest days of the week. Daily service will continue on the other days. The increased schedule provides additional alternatives for travelers traveling between Baghdad International Airport and Amman’s Queen Alia International Airport, both of which are already available on Iraqi Airways’ booking network. Iraqi Airways said that the extra flights are being added in response to a large increase in passenger traffic on the route, with the goal of providing more flexibility as demand develops. The move improves air connectivity between Iraq and Jordan, which have strong business, tourist, and family travel relations. The development coincides with Iraqi Airways’ efforts to expand fleet operating capacity and widen its regional and international network. As part of its attempts to increase fleet availability, the state-owned airline has recently resumed aircraft operations and expanded repair capabilities. The revised Baghdad-Amman timetable becomes effective on September 11.
