And this time, there is quite a lot to look forward to, from a new A20 Pro chip and camera upgrades to a smaller Dynamic Island and potentially bigger batteries. Apple is also expected to unveil its first foldable iPhone at the event, making this one of its more interesting September launches in recent years.But before you start making plans for your next upgrade, there are two things you should know.First, the iPhone 18 and the second-generation iPhone Air are not coming this time. Not this year, at least, according to what we are hearing. And second, most of what we know about the iPhone 18 Pro comes from leaks and reports, so none of these specifications are official just yet. So, take all of this with a pinch of salt. Now lets get back to everything we are expecting from the new iPhone 18 Pro series to bring on table. iPhone 18 Pro India price: Prepare your wallet Lets first talk about the rumour you might not like that much– the price. Apple is reportedly considering a price hike for the iPhone 18 Pro range. And the reason you know. The RAM pricing and memory price crises. According to a report by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the iPhone 18 Pro could arrive at a starting price of $1,199 in the US, up from $1,099 for the iPhone 17 Pro. For India, reports suggest the price could increase by around Rs 10,000, although the final figure could vary depending on the model and storage option. So we are expecting the iPhone 18 Pro could start at around Rs 1,39,900 in India, up from Rs 1,34,900 for the iPhone 17 Pro. That said, we hope the new generation of flagship iPhones brings enough significant upgrades to make the price hike feel a little easier to swallow. iPhone 18 Pro expected specificationsDisplay: The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to retain a 6.3-inch OLED display, while the Pro Max could continue with a 6.9-inch panel. The big change may not be the size, but what sits above the display. Multiple reports suggest Apple could move some Face ID components underneath the screen, allowing for a smaller Dynamic Island. Analyst Jeff Pu has previously pointed to a smaller Dynamic Island and an 18-megapixel front camera.Design: The iPhone 17 Pro series saw a visual overhaul with horizontal camera layout. So this time around don't expect Apple to bring something that major. The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to retain the familiar flat-edged design and triple-camera setup. However, leaks suggest Apple could introduce new colours, including a dark cherry or burgundy-style finish, along with other shades such as blue and silver.Processor: This could be one of the biggest upgrades, and perhaps one of the reasons behind the steep price jump. The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to feature Apple’s A20 Pro chip, reportedly built using TSMC’s 2nm process. The smaller manufacturing process could help Apple improve both performance and power efficiency. But this more advanced chip-making process is also said to come with higher production costs, which could partly explain the expected price hike. Reports also suggest that the Pro models could retain 12GB of RAM.Cameras: Camera is another area where the iPhone 18 Pro could make its mark as a flagship. Apple is expected to stick with a triple rear-camera setup, with 48-megapixel sensors continuing across the Pro range. However, the more interesting upgrade could be a variable-aperture main camera.
