iOS 27.2 Expands Dual Capture to Group FaceTime

The iOS 27.2 update Apple released today allows the FaceTime Dual Capture feature to be used in Group ‌FaceTime‌ calls. Dual Capture is a feature that lets you stream ‌FaceTime‌ video content from the front and rear cameras at the same time. On a compatible device running iOS 27, flipping the camera while on a ‌FaceTime‌ call automatically turns on Dual Capture. Dual Capture is available on the iPhone 17, ‌iPhone 17‌ Pro, ‌iPhone 17‌ Pro Max, iPhone Air, iPhone 18 Pro, ‌iPhone 18 Pro‌ Max, and iPhone Duo. The ‌iPhone Duo‌ also supports Duo ‌FaceTime‌, an option that uses the under-display camera on the inner display and the outer display camera to let a second person join a group call without having to squeeze everyone into a single frame. With iOS 27.2, Apple also added an option to add a third-party sign language interpreter or live captioner to a call.
