IONNA knocks nearly 50% off EV fast charging for Labor Day

BMW electric vehicles at an IONNA station (Source: BMW) IONNA is giving Labor Day road-trippers a pretty awesome charging deal: From Friday, September 4, through Monday, September 7, charging across its entire network will cost just $0.20 per kWh, plus tax. That’s nearly half off IONNA’s regular network-wide rate, which is capped at $0.39 per kWh, with no paid membership required. Here’s what that looks like in actual dollars: Adding 50 kWh ordinarily costs up to $19.50 before tax at an IONNA charger. During the sale, it’ll cost $10 – a savings of $9.50. Any compatible EV can charge for $0.20 per kWh over the holiday weekend, but four of the eight automakers that founded IONNA – BMW, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, and GM – have also rolled out additional discounts that will stack with the IONNA Labor Day sale. Drivers of those cars just need to start their session using their automaker’s app or Plug & Charge: Eligible BMW, Hyundai, and Mercedes-Benz EV drivers will pay $0.16 per kWh, plus tax. Eligible GM EV drivers will pay $0.18 per kWh, plus tax. At those rates, that same 50 kWh charge will cost BMW, Hyundai, and Mercedes drivers $8, while GM drivers will pay $9. But again, don’t just tap your credit card at the charger if you qualify – the automaker discount only kicks in when the session is started through your EV’s app or Plug & Charge. IONNA crossed 100 live sites and nearly 1,000 charging bays in March and is working toward achieving 30,000 online bays by 2030. Its Rechargeries offer both NACS and CCS connectors and charging speeds of up to 400 kW, so the sale isn’t limited to the founding automakers. IONNA’s Rechargery locator shows locations, live availability, connector types, and amenities.
