Showrunner Rolin Jones has confirmed plans for Interview with the Vampire season 4, and what it means following The Vampire Lestat's massive cliffhanger ending. The latest season of the Immortal Universe's vampire series saw Lestat touring the country in a rock band, determined to tell his side of the story after the publication of Louis' account during Interview with the Vampire. This culminates in a final rock concert promoting the Great Conversion, the idea of spreading vampirism across the world. While unseen, it results in the destruction of Montreal. Speaking with IGN, Jones confirmed Interview with the Vampire season 3 is only the first half of The Vampire Lestat, whose story is planned to continue into season 4. The showrunner revealed season 4 will pull from the third book in Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles series, titled Queen of the Damned, revealing new angles and elements of the story across various perspectives. Yet it's still expected to end in the auction room featued in the season 3 premiere, confirming the focus will remain on Lestat and getting to that point of the timeline. And if you know Queen of the Damned really well, it is a series of chapters of strict point of views. So, get ready, folks! This is part two. And if there's stuff that might have frustrated you this year, relax. Everyone will want to comment on that last shot of Montreal, but it ain't just that. A lot of s**t went down this year. And there's a couple of guys sitting in an auction room. They are not going at each other's throats. The puzzle will all come together given there's a Season 4. The Vampire Lestat season 3 ended not only with Montreal destroyed, but with Louis and Lestat targeted by Daniel and Armand, who were determined to put an end to the Great Conversion while getting personal revenge against the pair. However, they were eventually stopped by Raglin James and the Talamasca, who revealed they wanted Lestat's concert to happen. It's unclear how the destruction of Montreal furthers the group's plans, but it seems the pursuit of the Great Conversion has led to devastating consequences, which will be further explored in the show's next arc. As Jones states, Interview with the Vampire's characters have yet to enter the auction room at the start of season 3, nor are they afflicted with the various changes and injuries the start of the season revealed. It appears season 4 will bring about these alterations, not only showcasing the aftermath of Montreal, but additional perspectives leading up to the concert and what it entailed. The Queen of the Damned starts much the same way, with the novel being a strong continuation that will serve Lestat's story fittingly in its back half. Since The Vampire Lestat earned critical acclaim, it's set a high bar for season 4. The boisterous focus on Lestat's music coupled with a fitting continuation of Louis' story makes the two-pronged approach important for how the season has developed. But it also leaves plenty to the imagination, something that will no doubt be expanded upon in the show's forthcoming plans. As of writing, season 4 hasn't been officially renewed, but with the show outperforming AMC's expected 30-day viewership in just one week, it seems an inevitable continuation of the Immortal Universe is in order. While The Vampire Lestat hibernates, the Immortal Universe is set to continue with Mayfair Witches season 3, which is also anticipated to reinvent the show with a new location and storyline. As for the Interview with the Vampire adaptation, it appears Lestat's story has only just begun. There's plenty of mystery left thanks to its surprising cliffhanger, promising an in-depth look at the Great Conversion, and how Lestat's recordings get auctioned off at a high price.
