She's a lifelong gamer, a relentless industry sleuth, and a passionate follower of everything happening in the games industry. Two thriving fandoms collide this month as The Amazing Digital Circus arrives in Devsisters' CookieRun: Kingdom and CookieRun: Crumble for an epic collaboration event. The event brings the entire beloved main cast of characters from TADC to the world of sentient cookies and mayhem for a limited time. ScreenRant spoke about the fun collab with CookieRun: Kingdom Game Director, Kyoungoh Kim. We learned the details about the collaboration, as well as some insight from Kim about how TADC will fit into the CR universe, what fans of both franchises should know as they dive in, and more. The Circus Arrives In CookieRun: Kingdom October 21 Through November 18 The collaboration will take place across two CookieRun games, CookieRun: Kingdom and CookieRun: Crumble. The Kingdom event begins today, October 21, and runs thorugh November 18. It brings Jax and Pomni to the free-to-play RPG and kingdom-building game as playable Special-grade Cookies. Five more characters arrive as Guest Cookies who can roam around players' Kingdoms: Ragatha, Gangle, Zooble, Kinger, and Caine. Kim assures fans concerned about paywalls that "all seven featured characters from The Amazing Digital Circus can be obtained through the game’s gacha system." That doesn't mean it'll be easy, as acquiring all seven new cookies may require some luck and time. Luckily, the team has "built in plenty of opportunities to help players earn resources and make pulls throughout the event. We want fans to have a real shot at bringing their favorite circus characters into their kingdom." TADC fans will get to experience a brand-new story starring their favorite characters, told through the lens of the CookieRun universe. The story will end in a boss raid battle against an Abstracted Entity. "Beyond collecting the characters," says Kim, "we wanted to answer the question fans would naturally ask: What happens when the circus crew meets the Cookies?" The crossover discovers what happens when "when characters who were never meant to meet suddenly share the same world." That curiosity, Kim states, "became a driving force behind the story." The story and new Cookies aren't the only way TADC will make a mark on players' kingdoms. The event will also include special costumes for the new Cookies—including Pomni's beach swimsuit and Jax's maid uniform. Players will also be able to get themed kingdom decorations and a Gummigoo-themed icing set. The idea was to bring more of the Digital Circus world into the game. Kim notes: "We wanted the collaboration to feel like more than a temporary visit. We wanted players to bring a little piece of the circus home with them." CookieRun: Crumble And TADC Collide October 22 Through November 19 CookieRun: Crumble will also get a bit of circus whimsy and madness for a special event lasting from October 22 through November 19. TADC event cookies will be rolled out in two waves into the casual deck-building RPG from Devsisters. Pomni, Caine, Ragatha and Kinger will launch on October 22, followed by Jax, Zooble, and Gangle on November 5. Unlike in the Kingdom collab, all seven will be Special-grade Cookies, usable in all stages and dungeons of the mobile game. CR: Crumble players will also be able to get a Bubble Pet with in-game currency, and fight through a number of themed event dungeons. A more difficult stage, Night Circus Tent, will arrive on November 5. Fans who want in on the action for either CookieRun: Crumble or CookieRun: Kingdom will have to act fast: Once the events are over, the themed Cookies will no longer be available. "We know that’s not ideal for everyone," Kim admits, "but there’s something special about sharing an experience while the whole community is enjoying it together." Kim hopes the limited-time nature of this event will make the experience even more meaningful, as two extremely passionate fandoms merge into one big community for a moment. He adds: "Some adventures are special because of the world they take you to. Others are special because of the moment you share with everyone else." The CookieRun World Welcomes New Players This Is A Great Time To Start Playing The Amazing Digital Circus aired its final episode back in June of this year. Despite this, the community remains strong—even in light of the series and its creator, Gooseworx, encountering some controversy. Although the series is officially over, the CookieRun team wanted to continue its legacy through this two-game event. "The end of a series doesn’t have to mean the end of the adventure," says Kim. "We wanted to give fans a new way to reconnect with characters they weren’t ready to say goodbye to, and CookieRun: Kingdom felt like the perfect place for that next chapter." Many fans of the Circus have expressed interest in trying the CookieRun games just for the event, much to the delight of the CookieRun team, according to Kim: "Seeing longtime players and newcomers celebrate side by side has been especially rewarding for our team." There are currently no plans for bringing the crossover back in the future or expanding it to the physical world through merch. If you're considering jumping in for the collaboration, the two games are now more beginner-friendly than they've ever been. Whether you're a new or returning player, the devs have "made it easier than ever for new players to find their footing, with clearer in-game guidance." Kim's advice to new players is, by his admission, simple: "You don’t need to know everything about the kingdom to find your place in it. Just find one Cookie you love, and let that be your starting point." For TADC fans, he adds, he recommends "starting with the collaboration story and seeing how Pomni, Jax, and the rest of the crew get along with the Cookies." The CookieRun: Kingdom special collaboration event with The Amazing Digital Circus begins today, October 21, while the CookieRun: Crumble crossover launches tomorrow, with more content to arrive November 5. "We hope fans will join us while the Digital Circus is in the Cookie Kingdom," says Kim. "Who knows? You might arrive for the circus and leave with a new favorite Cookie. Welcome to the kingdom!"
