Interrail launches flash sale with 50% off trains to 33 European countries

It’s time to plan an epic European rail adventure — and Interrail has just launched a major promo sale, available now to book. The rail operator is offering travel around the rail networks of 33 countries, including everywhere from Paris and Italy, to Montenegro and Estonia — with some discounts as big as 50% off. You’ll have to be quick though, as the sale is only live until October 1, 9am UK time. Here’s everything you need to know about the discounts and how to get them. To understand the savings to be had, you’ll need to know what travel passes are available. There are two different types of Interrail pass: One Country: allows train travel within a single European country. Global: allows unlimited travel around the entire rail network of 33 countries. You can buy each pass for two different time scales: Continuous: allows travel on every single day of its validity period. Flexi: allows a set number of travel days to use when you want, within a wider time frame. The biggest discounts are available for Global Continuous Passes that last for one, two and three months in a row, with Interrail offering 50% off. For those aged between 12 and 27, that means your month-long Global Continuous Pass will cost £227, down from £454. Global Continuous Passes are also available for 15 and 22 days, with savings of 15%. Global Flexi Passes are also on a 15% discount offer. For example, a four-day-in-a-month pass now costs £157, down from £184 for youths, and £209, down from £246, for adults. These are blanket prices and are not attached to a specific date. For One Country Passes, which are also offering 15% off. Prices vary depending on which country you pick, but can be as low as £71 for a youth pass, if you want travel for four days in a month (available for the Greek Islands Pass). You don’t need a discount code, as the discount is automatically applied at check-out. When can I travel? There are no set travel dates attached to the promotional passes. But once purchased, mobile passes must be activated within 11 months This means you can buy the pass now during the flash sale and set your start date anytime up to 11 months from your purchase date, giving you flexibility for autumn getaways, spring breaks, or next summer’s itinerary. Passes bought under this promotional offer are 100% refundable within 7 days of purchase, but become strictly non-refundable and non-exchangeable after that period. Instead of single point-to-point journeys, the pass grants access to national rail networks across 33 European countries. Austria Belgium Bosnia-Herzegovina Bulgaria Croatia Czech Republic Denmark Estonia Finland France Germany Great Britain Greece Hungary Ireland Italy Latvia Lithuania Luxembourg North Macedonia Montenegro Netherlands Norway Poland Portugal Romania Serbia Slovakia Slovenia Spain Sweden Switzerland Turkey A new European sleeper train will connect 4 iconic cities by 2028 While Brits’ love for southern Europe may never fade, another region has proved itself to be a worthy rival for UK holidaymakers: Scandinavia. And now, railway operator, European Sleeper, is making it all the more easier to get around. The train company has announced plans for its first night train route to Scandinavia in spring 2028, connecting Brussels and Amsterdam with Copenhagen and Malmö. Other cities, such as London, Paris, Stockholm and Oslo, can be reached with one additional change along the route. Prices have not been released for the new route.
