Interpol Play to Lucky Few at New York’s Mercury Lounge: Photos + Setlist

Interpol didn’t get to play CBGB Festival thanks to its severe weather cancelation, but they still snuck in a New York City concert over the weekend. Just a few days before the festival was supposed to take place, the band announced a major underplay show at Mercury Lounge, a 250-capacity venue they hadn’t played since 2001. That made the club show Interpol’s only non-festival New York date of this year, and after that Nor’easter blew away all hopes of the weekend’s three planned festivals, this was one of the city’s hottest tickets. Find Interpol Tickets Here As part of their ongoing tour, the tiny concert came in support of the band’s new album, This Mirror Weighs a Ton. The gig fittingly opened with the record’s title track — but only featured three other new songs (“Iron City,” “See Out Loud,” and “Wings on Fire”). The rest of the 19-song set focused on classics from Antics (“C’mere,” “Evil,” “Slow Hands,” “NARC”) and Turn On the Bright Lights (“Obstacle 1,” “PDA,” and obviously, “NYC”), and the rest of the band’s beloved discography.
