Interpol have announced details of an intimate London show after their co-headline gig with Bloc Party in the capital was cancelled. READ MORE: Interpol tell us about new album ‘This Mirror Weighs A Ton’: “We just felt, ‘Let’s make this one count’” In support of their acclaimed eighth album ‘This Mirror Weighs A Ton‘, the NYC indie icons will be hitting the road with fellow ’00s guitar veterans Bloc Party for a run of UK and European co-headline dates, kicking off in Copenhagen next week before rolling into the UK later in November and ending in the capital next month. The tour was due to conclude with two nights at the 7,000 capacity Grand Hall at London’s Olympia on December 4 and 5, before a whole run of shows – also including Jamie T and Royal Blood – had to be moved or cancelled due to “unforeseen planning issues” at the venue. They will be playing without Bloc Party. “We were disappointed circumstances beyond our control meant we couldn’t play the two shows at Olympia Grand Hall as planned,” Interpol told fans in a statement. “We’ve been working to deliver a show for Interpol fans in London in the same timeframe, and this is it. This intimate show is a way for us to celebrate ‘This Mirror Weighs A Ton’ with fans before touring further in 2027.” Tickets to the new date will be available via pre-sale on 9am on Thursday November 5 before going on general sale on Friday November 6 at 9am. View this post on Instagram In a four-and-a-half star review of ‘This Mirror Weighs A Tonne’, NME hailed it as “the whole journey of Interpol’s sonic past, present and future laid out, marking their most unified yet experimental effort in years and arguably their most consistent and satisfying since ‘Antics’.”Recommended Speaking to NME about the new album, frontman Paul Banks said the high energy rock-leaning vibe came as a reaction to predecessor ‘The Other Side Of Make-Believe‘ being written in isolation during the pandemic. “This time I said, ‘I need us to be loud in a room together’,” said Banks. “It was louder from the beginning. I do think there are more rockers on this one than the last one, although I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s a ‘heavy’ record or overly rocking. It was just written in that live space where I could shout over the drums again.” The remainder of Interpol and Bloc Party’s 2026 jointEuropean and UK tour dates are: NOVEMBER 10 – Copenhagen, Royal Arena 11 – Berlin, Uber Arena 12 – Hamburg, Barclays Arena 14 – Düsseldorf, PSD Bank Dome 16 – Paris, Le Zenith 17 – Amsterdam, AFAS Live 18 – Brussels, Forest National 20 – Birmingham, Utilita Arena 21 – Cardiff, Utilita Arena 23 – Manchester, Aviva Studios 24 – Manchester, Aviva Studios 26 – Brighton, Brighton Centre 27 – Brighton, Brighton Centre 28 – Sheffield, Utilita Arena 30 – Dublin, 3Arena DECEMBER 2 – Glasgow, OVO Hydro Meanwhile, Banks has shared that he’s also readying an album with a new band he formed with Liars’ Aaron Hemphill in his new home of Berlin.
