International cricket star, 26, banned for EIGHT YEARS after breaching anti-corruption rules

BODUGUM AKHILESH REDDY has been slapped with an eight-year ban for breaching anti-corruption rules. The charges relate to when the batsman, who bowls right-arm off-spin, was featuring in the Abu Dhabi T10 with Aspin Stallions last year. Sign up for the Sport newsletter Thank you! A statement from the ICC read: “USA player Bodugum Akhilesh Reddy has been banned from all cricket for eight years after an ICC anti-corruption Tribunal found him guilty of breaching three counts of the ICC anti-corruption code. “The charges relate to the Abu Dhabi T10 2025 in the United Arab Emirates for which the ICC was appointed by the Emirates Cricket Board as the designated anti-corruption official. “The ban is backdated to 21 November 2025, when Reddy was provisionally suspended.” The tribunal found Reddy guilty of influencing matches improperly and encouraging another player to break regulations. He was also charged with obstructing the investigation by deleting data and messages from his phone. Reddy has made four T20 appearances for the USA, having made his debut in a showdown with the Cayman Islands in April 2025. But Reddy was only handed two outings in the competition and missed out on silverware at the hands of UAE Bulls. The monster ban comes after ex-USA vice-captain Aaron Jones was provisionally suspended in January. It came on the eve of the T20 World Cup, having been charged with five alleged breaches of anti-corruption guidelines. English cricket was also rocked last month, when Saltburn’s Brian Devine was accused of clicking his fingers to get opponents out. He timed the bizarre tactic to make it sound as though batsmen had edged the ball. Comment now
