Intel Reveals 19 Russian Missile, Drone Firms Still Outside International Sanctions

Nineteen Russian companies involved in producing components for missiles, drones, and military aircraft remain untouched by sanctions from any country in the international sanctions coalition, Ukraine’s military intelligence (HUR) said on Monday.The companies are among 54 enterprises belonging to or managed by KRET, Russia’s largest radio-electronics holding, and part of the state-owned defense conglomerate Rostec, according to data published by HUR, on its War&Sanctions portal.JOIN US ON TELEGRAMFollow our coverage of the war on the @Kyivpost_official.The agency said the KRET companies develop and manufacture electronic warfare systems, friend-or-foe identification technology, and onboard electronics for Russian fighter jets and helicopters. Their products also include electric motors, drone navigation and control systems, counterdrone equipment, and remotely operated machine-gun platforms.The intelligence agency identified several KRET enterprises that it said contribute directly to Russia’s ballistic and hypersonic missile programs.The Stavropol Signal Plant produces compact S200A1 jamming stations for Russia’s 9M723 Iskander-M ballistic missiles. HUR said the Kaluga Scientific Research Radio Engineering Institute supplies components for the 3B228 electronic protection system used in Russia’s 3M22 Zircon hypersonic missiles.KRET’s parent organization also covers funding shortages under Russian state defense contracts carried out by companies within the holding, the agency said. Ukraine has repeatedly called on its partners to impose sanctions not only on major Russian weapons manufacturers, but also on the network of factories producing navigation equipment, electronics, and other specialized components used in Russian weapons.Among the 19 companies that HUR said remain unsanctioned is Inertial Technologies of Technocomplex, which produces inertial navigation systems for Kh-59M2 and Kh-59M2A guided air-launched missiles and Orion drones.Another company, the Tambov Elektropribor plant, supplies gyroscopes used in 9M727 cruise missiles launched by the Iskander system, according to the agency.The Ulan-Ude Instrument-Making Production Association manufactures aircraft automation components, radio navigation equipment, and electric motors for drones, HUR said.KRET is the 10th Rostec holding whose corporate network Ukraine has published through the War&Sanctions database. The portal now contains information on 764 Rostec-linked enterprises, including identifying details, their functions within Russia’s defense-industrial structure, corporate relationships, and existing sanctions.HUR called for the remaining companies to be added to international sanctions lists and for governments to strengthen enforcement of existing restrictions.The agency said sanctions would be effective only if accompanied by controls preventing companies from obtaining foreign technology through intermediaries and by penalties for those helping Russia circumvent restrictions.
