Inside The Gentlemen's raucous premiere party: Newly single Maya Jama 'hits it off' with Chris Eubank Jr over tequila cocktails as Theo James charms guests and stars feast on lobster rolls beneath Guildhall

She recently declared herself an ‘all or nothing girl’ following the end of her romance with Manchester City footballer Ruben Dias.And newly single Maya Jama appeared determined to make the most of her night out as she ‘hit it off’ with boxer Chris Eubank Jr at the world premiere of The Gentlemen Season 2.The Love Island presenter, 32, was spotted spending time on Wednesday evening with her fellow cast newcomer in the VIP area at the lavish after-party beneath London’s Guildhall.The pair were seen chatting and enjoying the party together before Maya continued celebrating beyond midnight with a tequila cocktail in hand.A source said: ‘Maya seemed to be getting on really well with Chris. They spent time together in the VIP area chatting and enjoying the partyMaya’s drink of choice came, appropriately, from the evening’s Gentlemen-themed cocktail menu.She was spotted sipping The Glass Paloma, made with tequila, grapefruit juice, lime juice and soda water and finished with a burnt grapefruit peel.Her late night came after making her scripted acting debut in the second series of Guy Ritchie’s Netflix hit, in which she plays Aisha.With gangsters, gunfire and a multimillion-pound drugs empire, The Gentlemen is hardly known for doing things by halves.And Netflix brought the same sense of excess to the show’s world premiere as its stars partied deep into the night inside the medieval Crypts beneath London’s Guildhall.The evening began in Guildhall Yard, which had been transformed into a grand country estate in homage to Guy Ritchie’s drama.Guests walked a green carpet past manicured topiary and ornate iron gates, while handlers in flat caps, waistcoats and wellington boots stood with hunting dogs beside a gleaming vintage convertible.Inside the Great Hall, Theo James, Kaya Scodelario and Ritchie took part in a Q&A before the audience watched the opening episode of the second series beneath the venue’s soaring roof and Gothic windows.But once the credits rolled, guests were ushered downstairs into the East and West Crypts – the largest surviving medieval crypts in London – where the restrained aristocratic theme gave way to something altogether more raucous.The network of underground chambers had been drenched in blood-red light, illuminating their spectacular vaulted ceilings, carved stone arches and pillars.A full-sized boxing ring occupied the centre of the crowded room, complete with fighters, while a huge neon sign bearing the name of the show’s fictional Glass Knuckles boxing club glowed nearby.Other drinks on the menu included The Old Fashioned Gentleman – a combination of bourbon, Pedro Ximénez sherry, black oak and chocolate bitters and demerara syrup, served with an edible chocolate ‘cigar’.Guests could also order an Apex Predator, made from vodka, apricot liqueur, thyme syrup and lemon bitters, while alcohol-free alternatives were named the 0% Apex Predator and the Tamed Tiger.Gratiot-Pillière Brut champagne was poured alongside Gavi di Gavi white wine and Château Sainte-Marie Bordeaux, while Stella Artois flowed from branded taps.Social media beer connoisseur Alex Hendy, 30, better known to his followers as the Schooner Scorer, was spotted enthusiastically guzzling the lager.A source said: ‘The drinks never seemed to stop. Maya was on the Glass Palomas, which could hardly have been more appropriate given that she was partying with the Glass family.‘The Schooner Scorer was naturally making the most of the free Stella.’Even a wardrobe malfunction failed to halt Maya’s celebrations after part of her leather gown broke during the evening.The source added: ‘Maya was impossible to miss. Her dress broke at one point, but she was completely unfazed. She simply tied it up at the sides and carried on partying as though nothing had happened.’And guests did not leave empty-handed: each was gifted a commemorative Stella Artois glass engraved for The Gentlemen.Waiters sporting tattoos across their faces circulated through the crypts carrying trays laden with mini bagels, lobster rolls, arancini balls, crab parcels and pumpkin rolls, followed later by chocolate truffles.As the evening wore on, the DJ moved from TLC’s Nineties hit No Scrubs to Pitbull’s Hotel Room Service and Shakira’s She Wolf.Leading man Theo, 41, who attended with his actress wife Ruth Kearney, 41, remained at the party beyond 12.30am after becoming surrounded by guests seeking his attention.But despite Stella Artois, champagne and cocktails flowing throughout the Crypts, the actor was not seen with a drink in his hand all evening. He seemed to be really enjoying himself, and from the moment he arrived there was always somebody waiting to speak to him.'At around midnight he suddenly realised he hadn’t seen Ruth for two hours because he had been talking to so many people. He said he needed to go and find her and disappeared into the crowd to look for her.’Downton Abbey star Hugh Bonneville, meanwhile, took a considerably more efficient approach to proceedings.The 62-year-old was said to be the first cast member to descend into the Crypts after the screening – and also the first to make his exit.‘Hugh was first down and first out,’ the source added. ‘He arrived at the party before everybody else, had a look around and enjoyed himself, but he wasn’t hanging about until the early hours.’The guest list also included Vinnie Jones, 61, Joely Richardson, 61, Michele Morrone, 35, and Laurence Fishburne, 65.Ritchie attended the premiere with his wife Jacqui Ainsley, 44, and son Rocco, 26 – whom he shares with Madonna – while Ray was joined by his wife Elaine and daughter Jaime.By midnight, the formal premiere atmosphere had all but disappeared as the stars mingled beneath the ancient arches.A source said: ‘It began as a very polished industry premiere, but by midnight the ties had loosened and everyone was dancing to Pitbull and Shakira in the Crypts.‘The cast had spent months filming a show about aristocrats behaving badly – and they appeared determined to celebrate accordingly.’All eight episodes of The Gentlemen series two are available on Netflix now.
