Insiders said Mel B, 51, and Geri, who haven’t seen eye to eye after Mel accused Geri of lying about her age in 2022, put on a cordial display. A source said yesterday: “Mel and Chris’s wedding was perfect and they couldn’t be happier. “They chose a classy, laid-back ceremony before a reception with their closest friends and family. “Mel B gave a speech which got a lot of laughs, as well as some tears — it was really beautiful. On Friday night Mel and Chris invited their guests to a low key dinner at the Duke of Cumberland pub, where they tucked into fish and chips and steak pie. The source added: “Mel and Chris invited anyone who was available to join them for dinner at the Duke. It’s the only pub for miles and they hired it out for their guests to enjoy a meal together. “On Saturday, their guests were driven to the venue for the ­ceremony. Their romance inspired her latest solo album, Sweat, with Mel saying: “Not long into making the record, I met somebody new, I fell in love, and so I ended up having this wonderful arc of emotions throughout the album — of heartbreak and then that excitement of a new relationship.” Mel added of Chris: “He’s very laid-back. He’s loads of fun . . . we work out together. We have very similar personalities and lifestyles.”
