For the TV host, who spends much of her working life travelling internationally while filming and presenting A Place in the Sun, having her Scottish team around her for such a significant night made the occasion feel particularly personal. She said: “My career takes me all over the world and I’m incredibly lucky to get to travel and work in so many amazing places, but there is something really special about coming to the National Television Awards and being surrounded by people who know you. “Having my Scottish glam team with me for the NTAs is really important. “Pam and Kirsty know me so well and they know exactly how I like to look and feel. There is such a comfort in having people you trust around you when you’re getting ready for a big night. “The NTAs are such a special night for television and, for me, being there feels a little bit like coming home. She said: “You can have the most incredible dress, hair and makeup, but if you don’t feel comfortable in it, I think that shows. “I’ve learned over the years what works for me and what makes me feel good. Once you feel confident, you can forget about everything else and actually enjoy the night.” Despite being an industry veteran, the Scots beauty – who shares a son with her Rangers legend hubby Jonatan Johansson – also admitted she still gets excited to walk the red carpet. She said: “I think you’d be lying if you said you didn’t. “There’s obviously the glamorous side of it, but there are definitely still nerves. You’ve spent all that time getting ready and then suddenly you step out and there are hundreds of cameras in front of you. “But once you’re there, you just have to enjoy it. These nights are supposed to be fun.” Comment now
