Inside Florence Pugh’s wild weekend at Wilderness Festival as A-lister ditches VIP glitz for eight-man tent

WHILE Spider-Man: Brand New Day was topping the box office at the weekend, Florence Pugh was camping at Wilderness Festival. The Hollywood star’s family live less than 20 miles away from the site, at Oxfordshire’s Cornbury Park. To be fair, she didn’t need to make a trip to Mountain Warehouse beforehand, though, as she was staying in the boutique camping section at the festival, where the tent was put up for her. On Saturday, she watched Scissor Sisters perform a belting headline show before heading up to hedonistic dance area, The Riddle. Read more on Florence Pugh The legendary club, in a walled garden, has a strict over-18s policy and security guards put stickers over punters’ cameraphones to stop them filming or taking snaps. Florence partied there until the final song — the Spice Girls’ Who Do You Think You Are — played, before filing out with bleary-eyed stragglers after temperatures plummeted to a chilly 11C. One fellow partygoer told me: “There was no missing Florence — she was wearing a flowing gown of orange sequins, a yellow skin-tight catsuit and a massive fluffy headpiece. “She was surrounded by mates and she sorted it so they could skip the queue into The Riddle. Most read in Showbiz Florence, who was joined by a load of her local pals, partied until 3am Credit: Supplied She was partying in the hedonistic dance area, The Riddle Credit: Supplied “They were chuffed, but nobody inside even seemed to realise they were partying with someone who’s in one of the biggest films of the year, despite her kooky outfit. “Everyone just treated her like a normal girl once she was inside — and that’s how she likes it.” Florence is set to star in another massive film before the end of the year, appearing in Dune 3 opposite Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya. And there were plenty of other celebs on site at the festival this weekend, with Jessie Ware, Matt Smith, Joel Dommett and Jo Whiley all spotted milling around the site. The annual knees-up, which launched 15 years ago, has become a huge hit with the upper-class — especially with Glastonbury not happening this year. It’s suitably posh, as it’s sponsored by Audi, has a book tent and there’s even a banquetry tent where punters can fork out a small fortune for a meal by a ­variety of celebrated chefs. Hopefully lucky Florence ­managed to get some fancy grub in there after her late night out. Venison, anyone? Comment now
