In Reply We thank Dr Klingenberg and colleagues for their insightful evaluation of the oxygen strategies used in the TORPIDO 30/60 study. They question why so many infants in the Fio2 of 0.3 group received a much higher Fio2 during the first 5 minutes of life when the study protocol recommended that initial Fio2 not be changed for at least 5 minutes to maintain separation between the 2 groups.
