CHELSEA mega-flop Winston Bogarde has been handed the chance to start earning his money – by landing a job with Holland’s Under-21 side. The Dutch defender notoriously picked up a reported £40,000 a week during four seasons at Stamford Bridge despite making just a dozen Blues appearances. But he has now been appointed assistant to Netherlands Under-21 boss Michael Reiziger, having previously worked under the ex-Middlesbrough defender at Ajax. Bogarde left his role with the Amsterdam club in 2022 following accusations of sexual harassment. Reiziger said: “I have worked well with Winston in the past. He brings a lot of experience as both a player and coach, and knows what is needed at the highest level. “With his knowledge and experience, he is a valuable addition to out staff.” Bogarde added: “The team is a talented group of players, who are fully committed to reaching the highest level.
