After the plate was served, he and his friends noticed what they described as worms crawling inside the momos. A customer alleged that he found worms in momos. CUSTOMER RAISES ALARM OVER MOMOSMeena said he immediately brought the matter to the attention of restaurant operator Siddharth Malviya and an employee, Sonu Pal. According to his complaint, when he questioned them about the alleged contamination, the employee claimed that the momos had not been prepared at the restaurant. The complainant further alleged that the restaurant staff behaved rudely and that an argument followed between the customers and the staff.Meena then inspected a basket containing frozen momos kept at the restaurant. He alleged that worm were also visible on other momos in the frozen stock. He took photographs and videos of the alleged incident and subsequently approached the Food Safety Department. The complaint included photographs, videos and details of the restaurant's location.COMPLAINT SEEKS INSPECTION AND ACTIONIn his formal complaint, Meena sought a detailed inspection of the restaurant's food storage, hygiene conditions and the quality of food being served to customers.He also demanded that the restaurant be sealed and that strict legal action be taken if the investigation established violations of food safety norms.The complaint described the alleged presence of worm in the food as a serious public health concern.FOOD DEPARTMENT INSPECTS RESTAURANTSenior Food Inspector Manish Swami confirmed over the phone that the Food Safety Department had received the complaint.Following the complaint, a special team from the department visited the restaurant to investigate the allegations. Officials inspected the premises, collected samples of food items and issued a notice to the restaurant management.According to officials, the proprietor is currently keeping the restaurant closed and the department is awaiting a response to the notice.The department's investigation will determine whether worm were actually present in the momos and whether the restaurant had violated food safety regulations.For now, the allegation has raised concerns over food hygiene and the handling and storage of food items at the Indore restaurant.
