IndiGo’s Low Fares Remain. The Extras Are Getting Pricier

IndiGo has raised fees for a range of optional services, from infant travel and excess baggage to unaccompanied minors, priority check-in and boarding, and travel certificates. The changes are modest in isolation. But they put a spotlight on one of the more obvious commercial levers available to IndiGo as it enters the Willie Walsh era — making more money from passengers without touching the low fares at the heart of its business model.
