She said many people assumed La Tomatina was exactly like it had been portrayed in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, but insisted that reality was very different.La Tomatina is an annual festival held in the Spanish town of Buol, where thousands of people gather to throw tomatoes at one another in what is considered the world's biggest food fight. The event gained immense popularity among Indian travellers after it was prominently featured in the 2011 Bollywood film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.The movie's colourful, carefree depiction of the festival turned La Tomatina into a bucket-list experience for many Indians, with several visitors hoping to recreate the iconic scenes shown on screen. According to Gupta, the festival used rotten tomatoes, which left behind a strong smell, while the crowds were far more intense than they appeared online. She explained that participants continued throwing tomatoes at one another relentlessly, adding that anyone who tried to take out their phone to record videos immediately became a target.She also pointed out that she had spotted several Indians at the festival who, much like her, might have arrived expecting a Bollywood-inspired experience, only to realise that the real event was far more chaotic.Gupta urged viewers not to expect the cinematic version shown in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, saying the actual festival was physically demanding and much messier.In the caption, she elaborated that while La Tomatina remained one of the world's most iconic festivals, it had also been one of the toughest experiences she had ever been through.She explained that the tomatoes were often rotten, the smell could be nauseating, and participants threw them with enough force to hurt. She added that people who were not physically strong might find the experience overwhelming.Gupta also said she had found the festival particularly intimidating as a woman.
