Priyancka Jaiin shared a video on Instagram explaining how much she earns from her work as a mehendi artist in the US.Indian techie in US works as mehendi artist on the side (Photos: Priyancka Jaiin/Instagram) An Indian software engineer living in the US has turned her passion for mehendi into a side business, taking up henna assignments alongside her full-time job.Priyancka Jaiin shared a video on Instagram explaining how much she earns from her work as a henna artist in the US.In the short clip, Priyancka said her primary source of income is her job as a software engineer, while mehendi is a hobby and passion that gives her an additional income."I am a full-time software engineer and my primary earnings are from my salary," she said. As a henna artist, Priyancka charges $100 per hour, which is around Rs 9,000-Rs 10,000. She often receives a tip of up to 20% on top of her charges.For bridal and wedding assignments, she said she can earn close to Rs 1 lakh for 10 hours of work. However, she cautioned that the higher earnings in the US come along with higher expenses. "But it is important to note that in US, expenses are also as high as earnings," she said.For Priyancka, though, the appeal of pursuing mehendi in the US goes beyond the additional money.
