Indian Railways announces 1,215 station master vacancies, apply online by November 25

The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have announced recruitment for 1,215 Station Master posts across Indian Railways. Eligible candidates can apply online under Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) No. 08/2026 through the official RRB application portal at rrbapply.gov.in.According to the official notification issued by the Ministry of Railways, the online application process opened on October 27, and will close at 11:59 pm on November 25.RRB RECRUITMENT: SALARY AND ELIGIBILITYThe Station Master post falls under Level 6 of the 7th Central Pay Commission, with an initial basic pay of Rs 35,400 per month. The prescribed age limit is 20 to 33 years as of January 1, 2027, with applicable age relaxations for eligible categories.Candidates must hold a degree from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification. Applicants awaiting their final examination results for the prescribed qualification are not eligible to apply. RRB RECRUITMENT: APPLICATION FEEThe examination fee is Rs 500 for candidates in the general fee category, of which Rs 400 is refundable, subject to applicable bank charges, after appearing in the Computer Based Test (CBT).For eligible candidates in the concessional-fee categories, including women, transgender persons, ex-servicemen, SC/ST candidates, minority communities and Economically Backward Class candidates, the fee is Rs 250, refundable subject to applicable bank charges after appearing in the CBT.RRB RECRUITMENT: SELECTION PROCESS The recruitment process will comprise a Computer Based Test (CBT), followed by a Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT), document verification and a medical examination. The notification specifies negative marking of one-third of the marks allotted to a question for each incorrect answer in the CBT.Candidates must also satisfy the prescribed A-2 medical standard, including vision requirements. The notification states that candidates who have undergone LASIK surgery or another surgical procedure to correct refractive error are not eligible for the Station Master post.RRB RECRUITMENT: HOW TO APPLYEligible candidates can submit their applications through the official RRB application portal.
