According to PTI, the remarks appeared to be a veiled reference to Pakistan and the global proliferation network led by Pakistani nuclear physicist A Q Khan. Known as the father of Pakistan's nuclear bomb, Khan led an international network that spread nuclear equipment and expertise. The US State Department described it as providing “one-stop shopping” for countries seeking to develop nuclear weapons.Suman is part of the second group of visiting Indian parliamentarians on a familiarisation visit to the UN. The MPs will take part in several engagements at the UN headquarters and meet senior UN officials, envoys and members of the Indian diaspora. Suman noted that India has tabled a resolution titled “Measures to prevent terrorists from acquiring weapons of mass destruction” since 2002. India also reaffirmed its commitment to the full, effective and non-discriminatory implementation of the Chemical and Biological Weapons Conventions.India's statement underlined its concern over terrorists gaining access to weapons of mass destruction and called for vigilance over sensitive technology transfers, while reiterating its commitment to international conventions covering chemical and biological weapons. With PTI Inputs- Ends
