India will look to carry the momentum from an eventful second day into Day 3 of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on Saturday, July 25. The contingent finally opened its medal account on Friday after para powerlifter Jhandu Kumar battled his way to a bronze in the men's heavyweight event, capping an inspiring journey from rural Bihar to the Commonwealth podium.The medal came after an otherwise mixed day for India. Boxer Jadumani Singh advanced to the pre-quarterfinals with a commanding victory over Scotland's Aaron Cullen, while the lawn bowls contingent continued to impress. Rupa Rani Tirkey and Pinki secured their second straight win in the women's pairs, and Putul Sonowal maintained his unbeaten run in the men's singles to boost India's knockout hopes.There were, however, disappointments elsewhere.
