A MAJOR supermarket chain is slashing bottles of viral “Chicken Wine” to just a fiver across its UK stores. The deal will run from August 26 to September 1, giving customers the chance to get stocked up on Chicken Wine ahead of the final weeks of summer. Known for the iconic rooster illustration on its instantly recognisable label, La Vieille Ferme means The Old Farm in French. The easy-to-drink rosé is priced as high as £9 at some supermarkets – and is popular thanks to its elegant fruity aromas and delicate notes of strawberry and raspberry. Asda’s offer comes as Aldi prepares to reduce its own Chicken Wine equivalent. The budget retailer is taking the price of 150cl magnums of its copycat Le Grand Poulet Rosé from £11.99 to £9.99, starting from August 27. The discount will be available while stocks last – but shoppers will be limited to three bottles each.
